STORY TO TELL
I am a passionate speaker and teacher, advocate of wellbeing. After about 15 years living in different countries, I was back to ‘home’ in the Netherlands for little over 5 years, based in Scheveningen, one of the popular surf- and hangout spots. Earlier this year, I decided to go back traveling, to teach for several retreats and trainings internationally.
In my life, without even realising this until my late thirties, yoga and meditation have been a natural way of daily practises. Already at a young age being able to use drawing, writing and walking as a meditation. Allowing myself already back then to observe the world around me, using these observations in writing stories. Confidence, identity, speaking in public; this was all far from reality growing up, but the desire to share my teachings, has made me step out of my comfort zone and develop myself to the person I now am.
Before discovering the path of yoga, I worked seasonal jobs in tourism in southern Europe and the USA. In between seasons I came across yoga while traveling to India for the first time, discovering the benefits of a daily yoga and meditation practice at drop-in classes at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa. From there on, it was a natural process, curiosity towards the philosophy, the integration of yoga into the Western life, made me sign up for a first TTC at Sampoorna Yoga the following season, but it took a few years more before I finally started teaching classes and workshops. A few more trainings followed, with Nicole Dechow from Soul & Yoga and Johan Noorloos in Amsterdam at De Nieuwe Yogaschool. Many workshops with different international teachers, integrating different styles together: Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga.
Attending my classes, you will always leave with a smile on your face, I will find a way to let you feel again good about you, inspire you to become the most beautiful version of yourself while staying down to earth with humour and a laugh that will make you laugh. Let yourself get inspired by my simple way of guiding you through your practice, inspiring you with words, jokes and a soft guidance. This does not mean my classes are easy, be prepared to break a sweat;) you never know what you gonna get, just like a full box of chocolates (Forrest Gump speaks with wise words)
Yoga starts, the moment you have finished your practice, roll up your mat and go back in your life. What we learn on the mat, we take with us. Join me for classes, trainings or retreats to experience yourself. If you have the aspiration to become a teacher yourself or wish to deepen your knowledge, you can enrol in different training programs through the schools I teach for or contact me for a customised program.
